A vehicle of this sort is colloquially known as "The Duck." In fact, it looks like that's what's painted across the side of this one.

I rode on one once in Hot Springs, Arkansas. It really was amphibious; took us right across a rather large lake.

We've also got one here in Austin. It's not how I'd recommend seeing the city, though.
